Our theme here is white, clean, almost stark, but with punches of color and quirk that add warmth. Kinda Hollywood Regency meets flea market nerd. Our friend Sara's chic style inspired this room. It's an office and workspace where meetings with clients could take place and creative feats could be achieved. There was so much joy in picking out what she might put on her shelves to inspire her.

We just let husband Ryan in on our trick for making up new rooms in the store. He gave us a premise for our next arrangement. Mission: Make a room for Jeff, a seminarian who is a traveling salesperson during the summer months. His mom gave him these rugs with hints of pink. We tell Jeff we can make them work into a masculine room.

A Room Where I Could Fall in Love

Secret: when Ashley and I put rooms together in the store, we come up with a pretend person who lives there and develop ideas about his/her personality and life. It helps us make a coherent space.

For our most recent room, we used a real person but made up a situation. Below, meet my husband Ryan's efficiency apartment. This is where he'd live if he was a bachelor, and the place where he'd charm me into loving him (As if his blazing red hair is not enough on its own!). Of course in this scenario, we've met later in life at the store.
