We wanted to thank everyone who came to and supported the Alliday holiday market and party we had a few weeks ago. Early in 2014, when Alliday founder and coordinator Briana Hefley approached us to host her holiday market at our shop, we didn't know what exactly would go down, but we knew it would be good. And it really was. Briana, we adore you. We got all our gift shopping done in one stop, met so many kind and talented people, and had a reason to wear glorious vintage-inspired dresses- that's a great event!

Every December, I name the coming year, as if each year were my very own tiny newborn child. Actually, the names are more like titles, and they point to our family goals and hopes for the next 12 months. 2012 was The Year of Giving, 2013 The Year of Yes and 2014 The Year of Less. I’m looking at 2015 being The Year of Simple Opulence, but I still have a few days to settle on this. Don’t pressure me.

On a daily basis, Ashley Palmer and I ask customers to show us pictures of their homes. We love seeing people's spaces. My husband Ryan and I actually first saw Drew Tedlock's home while delivering his Brasilia room divider (which he uses as a hutch). I promised Ryan that Drew's house would be worth a Sunday delivery; for some reason, I could just tell Drew would have enjoyable style. And he does.
